Solabel in Concert at Theater 5150 March 22, 2024

Solabel is a collective of some of area’s the top jazz, folk, bluegrass and gospel musicians, including members of local heroes Dear Darling, and we jumped at the rare opportunity to host them all on the same stage at Theater 5150. In fact, when I saw who is in the band, I thought to myself "Wow, that's kind of a supergroup!" They recently released their second full length album, “City of Trees,” which was made possible by a City of Sacramento arts grant and is what the city of Sacramento might say if it could speak, from the anger and recrimination of “Finish the Job” and “You Can’t Camp There,” the call to activism of “Fight,” the weary resignation of "Ghost Home," and the bittersweet, gorgeous, title track, it’s a brilliant meditation on community, equity and peace. I was at their very first performance a few years back and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. This show will very likely sell out, so get your tickets before they're gone!
