Event description

Imagine, create, design

Defining solar punk, the environment, you and the future.

Join us on this exciting journey to explore a vision of a positive future through art. Develop your style, imagination and creative output as an artist.

Mondays 6-8 pm

Over 10 weeks, together we will explore the stylistic elements of solar punk art including: backgrounds, perspective, foreground, colour work, natural elements, infrastructure and technology, figures in a landscape and more!

Welcoming all forms of media from drawing, collage, painting to sculpture or digital.

Adults and Youth - All levels welcome including beginners. The program is not suitable for people under 16 years.

Solar punk is a creative movement developed over 20 years ago in Brazil. The philosophy of solar punk is that we can imagine and form a vision for a positive future where natural systems, technology and humans flourish.

The Creative Futures Studio envisions how the future might be, and how we might express and create that future.  Collaborating with Vee Malnar, artist, the Creative Futures Studio is a venture of WorkSmith Permaculture.

We want to create a studio group to continue this exploration and whatever the solar punk theme means to you.

What you need to bring each week

Wonder & curiosity

sketch book A3 or similar; and or watercolour pad

HB and colour pencils

acrylics and watercolours with brushes

Tea cup and snacks as you prefer.

We will have water vessels and a small selection of materials to share.
