Event description

Bath Bombs that make us kinder? Potions that excite? Balms for when we’re worried? Would you love foraging in the garden to make these magical concoctions? Do you enjoy playing host?

If so, come and participate in a two-day workshop this summer at Rosny Farm Arts Centre with artists Ben Paul, Caitlin Fargher, and Nunami Sculthorpe-Green. During the first day we will explore our hopes and fears for the future by listening to our local environment, making special potions, and practicing hosting our community the following day. On the second day, participants will host their family, friends, and community, by taking them through a spa experience that collectively imagines a way towards sustainable and desired futures.

Community members will engage in conversations with their young hosts, supported by Ben, Caitlin and Nunami, about hopes and fears for the world 20 years from now. Young hosts will then select ‘healing potions’ to prescribe to spa attendees that support these aspirations. Come make a day spa for the future!

Please note:

● Kids aged 7 - 12 will need to be good independent workers, ready for a full day of making, thinking, and sharing. If you have any questions about the workshop and if it is the right fit for your child, please give us a call or send us an email.

● Participants are required to attend both consecutive workshop days.

● Bring a sun hat and drink bottle for outdoor play in the recess, lunch, and afternoon break.

● Bring a packed recess and lunch. Some light snacks and juice will be provided across both days.

● This workshop will be documented by photographs for use in future art grants and promotion. When purchasing tickets, you can either consent or opt-out of this process for your child.

● Day 2 will involve intergenerational conversations, it will be a ticketed event for family and friends and Ben and Caitlin will ensure a safe, supported space for both attendees and young spa hosts.
