Workshop: Planning Ahead for Solo Aging & Thriving
Event description
Many of us may find ourselves navigating our later years without a traditional family support system—perhaps single, widowed, divorced, or living far from relatives. In this practical and encouraging workshop, lawyer turned end-of-life doula Marni Blank will help participants identify personal support networks and create action plans for aging with confidence and joy.
We'll be discussing two main components:
"Creating Your Circle of Support"
Discover how to build and maintain a strong support network while aging solo. Through interactive exercises and group discussions, you'll map your current connections and identify opportunities to strengthen your community. Learn practical strategies for staying connected and engaged as you age.
"Planning for Your Future Self"
Take control of your future with concrete planning tools and resources. We'll cover essential topics including healthcare advocacy, legal considerations, and financial planning specific to solo agers. Leave with a practical roadmap for implementing key decisions and building the support system you need.
What you'll gain:
Practical tools for building and maintaining social connections
Strategies for creating a strong support network
Essential checklists for legal and healthcare planning
Resources for financial preparation
Comprehensive Organizer for your important information
Connection with others on the same journey
This interactive workshop includes breakout discussions, worksheets, and opportunities to share experiences with fellow solo agers.
Join us to proactively build a confident and connected future.
Coffee and bagels will be provided!
