Event description

Opening Night — Friday 27 August, 6–8pm

Free entry, drinks provided, all welcome.

Join us to celebrate four unique solo exhibitions by Shane Reynolds, Susan Holmes, Megan-Jane Johnstone, and the collaborative duo Lindesay Dresdon & Sheena Mathieson.

Meet the artists, enjoy a drink from the bar, and witness a rich mix of perspectives in one vibey event.

Shane Reynolds – Threads

Threads brings together works from 2018–2025, woven from personal observations whose connections aren’t always obvious at first glance. When placed together, a larger, cohesive yet abstract narrative emerges — a metaphor for the ongoing relationships between each piece.

Lindesay Dresdon & Sheena Mathieson – more or less

What began in early 2024 as an exchange of papers and artworks evolved into a dialogue of trust, curiosity, and creative play. Using shared materials and a limited palette, Lindesay and Sheena have crafted intuitive collages that speak to collaboration’s power to inspire, surprise, and reshape artistic practice.

Megan-Jane Johnstone – As in nature

As in nature explores the raw beauty of mountainous and forested landscapes through expressive, experimental painting. Each work invites close reflection on nature’s colours, forms, and fragility — aiming to evoke wonder, deepen appreciation, and encourage awareness in a time of environmental urgency.

Susan Holmes – Palette Perspective

Scenes and objects that captivate through colour and form are the heart of Palette Perspective. From the gleam of cherries to the soft green of avocados and the rugged charm of a prospector’s hut, Susan captures what draws her eye and keeps her engaged. Highlights include early-morning encounters with rainbow lorikeets feasting on sunflowers — moments that inspired both her brush and her spirit.
