This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Join Further Faster for a ladies-only night celebrating the New Zealand Premiere of Jenny Tough's film SOLO and our own intrepid explorer Wanda Vivequin.

SOLO documents Jenny's solo travels through six mountain ranges on six continents, completely unsupported, including New Zealand.

Live at the event, we will be joined by NZ and Nepal Guide Wanda Vivequin, who will share a curated collection of stories and photos from some of her most intrepid adventures in Nepal (she has been more than 40 times!) She will also speak about the transformative and healing powers of travel.

About SOLO:

Jenny Tough is a self-proclaimed: "adventurer, story-teller and mountain-lover." She is an endurance athlete who specialises in fast and light expeditions and has experimented with many adventure sports on all continents. She was the first person to run solo and unsupported across The Tien Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan and the Atlas Mountains in northern Africa on her 'Run the world mountains' mission to run across a mountain range on every continent - which she completed in 2021.

She is also the proud author of the book of the same name, SOLO, and Tough Women.

About Wanda:

With more than 40 trips to Nepal, Christchurch-based guide Wanda Vivequin has a deep understanding and connection to this Himalayan country. Her desire to visit Nepal started early – telling her father she aspired to be New Zealand's high commissioner to Nepal aged 12! Since a solo trip in 2000, Wanda has visited Nepal every year (apart from an enforced Covid break), travelled and guided in some of the country's most remote and challenging regions, worked on two Lonely Planet guidebooks, engaged in substantial philanthropic projects and calls this country her second home.

This will be a great night out filled with inspiration, determination and a bit of wanderlust thrown in. So grab your adventure, gals and join us!
