Solstice Search Party 2023
Event description
Celebrate the longest night of the year by embracing the winter solstice and venturing into the Warrnambool Botanic Gardens to see what exciting adventures await after dark.
This free event will feature interactive neon lights by Carla O’Brien, as well as all new sound and light installations from some of Warrnambool’s most talented creatives at One Day Studios.
The door to the Faerie Grotto will once again open and you can take a sneak peek into the enchanted realm of magic and wonder.
Don’t miss the Nature Bus, where you can create your very own nature mask to wear while exploring the Nurture in Nature Storybook Trail by lantern light.
You'll be treated to the musical delights of Leslie D King and the Trembling Shakes, Wade Northcott, Gabby Steel, Matt Price and Good Intentions DJ.
Our friends from Foreshore Foodies, Jun Home Kitchen, The Spud Bowl, Piccolo Coffee, Jane Dough and the Dutch Café will be serving up tasty treats on the night or, why not pack a picnic of your favourite local treats and bring along with you.

5:15pm – 09:00pm Immerse your senses in the Botanical Light and Magic experience by One Day Studios
5:35pm - next up.. Gabby Steel
6:00pm – 8:30pm Nurture in Nature Storybook Trail by lantern light commences. Departing approximately every half hour from The Nature Bus hub
6:50pm - then…… Leslie. D. King & The Trembling Shakes
8:00pm - wrapping up with Good Intentions
9:00pm Close
The neon lights will be on for you to explore from 3:15PM until 9PM.
Don’t forget to bring your torch and be prepared for all the elements! Umbrellas, gumboots and a camping chair are recommended!
