Event description

The Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation is excited to host the 3rd Solving Sanfilippo Symposium on the 19th-20th May 2023.

The one and a half-day symposium will bring together Australian researchers, clinicians, collaborators and parents to discuss research into Sanfilippo syndrome and related conditions to share results, progress and emerging directions.

There will be plenty of time dedicated to discussion and networking, including an update and discussion on the Global Roadmap for Sanfilippo Therapeutics.

The symposium sessions also reflect the research pillars of the Global Roadmap, with Australian and international speakers addressing these key themes:

STOP - treating the root cause of Sanfilippo, including gene therapy, substrate reduction therapy and chaperone therapy

TREAT - targeting the underlying pathology of Sanfilippo, including neuroinflammation, autophagy, protein aggregates and biomarkers

MANAGE - targeting the symptoms and impact of Sanfilippo on individuals and families
