S·O·M·A DANCE

S·O·M·A (Space Of Movement Arts) are launching a monthly Saturday Sunset ritual at Coorabell hall (northern rivers).

A special 2hr embodied dance journey to wholeheartedly embody your expression, on sunset, with views over the Byron Bay hinterland and out to sea/ the light house. Exploring how we are always moving, with meaning.

ABOUT. 

When our attention in dance is on the breath and the body as a whole ~ a begin to dance with “soma”. 

This is a holistic approach to dance.
S·O·M·A DANCE - is a practice to feel in, and move through - where we offer space for our  internal sensations,
to inform the way the body speaks through movement. 

What does Soma mean?

The body of life. Body consciousness. The wisdom of the body - These are all simplified expressions of Soma.

In Greek, the word Soma evolved to mean ‘the body living in its wholeness.’ It is also a word biologists use to distinguish the whole living body from its chromosomes alone.

THE FLOW OF S·O·M·A DANCE 

4.45pm - Arrival and parking.
5.00pm - Opening circle
Guided warm up (with Zen Thai Flow),
Connection,
Somatic guidance.
Free Movement/Dance.
Grounding.
Resting.
7pm. Close the dance space

Connection facilitator, Somatic Movement & Yoga teacher, Music producer & Artistic Creatrix - Experienced in curating space for embodied connection.
In dancing throughout this lifetime, this little wren has learnt that it’s in the body, where we heal - and when we do this alongside others, our potential is expanded, in empowering moments of togetherness.
With over 1000hrs of yoga teaching & somatic’s, a diploma in dance teaching, and making her way through a bachelor of Creative Industries ~ this bright little bird, weaves an informed & experiential tapestry of words & sounds ~ to invite you to tap into the body poetry that can be accessed in deep presence, and focused intention.
