```~~~~~INVITATION TO MOVE~~~~~
Friday, 20 November
6:45pm to 8:45pm
$25-$30 per person
😍LadyFem and Molly Devine invite you to join us for our November dance🔥Fresh off assisting on the recent Somatic Dance Teacher Training and filled with new inspiration, LadyFem will be stepping away from her usual home behind the decks to guide this dance, while Molly Devine will be crafting her musical magic on the soundscape. We would love to have you join us to receive the beautiful medicine of freeform movement!
Somatic Dance is a guided free form movement journey, delving deep into the layers of the body and held in a non-judgemental space where all of you is welcome. No prior dance experience is necessary and all bodies are welcome. There are no routines or steps to follow here, simply an invitation to discover how your body wishes to move. The guided facilitation is supported by a carefully curated soundscape overseen by a DJ.
This dance is an invitation for you to come and move your body to the unique rhythm of you, supporting a deeper connection with yourself and others.
This is a space free from alcohol, shoes and talking. Let the epic music and guidance of your facilitator carry you out of your mind and into your body, allowing yourself to experience the transformative power of Somatic Dance! The music takes the form of a wave, beginning gently before building to a peak, then settling back down to land softly and slowly.
We recommend wearing clothes you are comfortable moving in (layers are great), bring along a drink bottle and a drop or two of curiosity!
Our dance spaces are designed for adults to create a space where you are able to freely explore and express your authentic self, in whichever shape and form it happens to be expressing itself. As part of this, we request that alternate arrangements are made to care for any children while you attend. If you have a child you would like to bring along, please reach out to us and we can have a chat about whether it is a possibility.
The location is: Mt Eden Village Centre, 449 Mount Eden Road, Mount Eden, Auckland 1024
We welcome you at any time from 6.45pm for a 7pm start.
$25-$30 per person; cash on the door or through Humanitix
We have adopted a two tier ticket option:
$25 supported dancers, we want to continue to make our dances accessible for those on low incomes or struggling to make ends meet
$30 supporting dancers, for those who feel more abundant and are able to support us
If price is a barrier to attending, please reach out to us and we can work something out, an additional hand with tasks on the day is often appreciated.
Feel free to share this event and invite friends! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us and we would love to support you
We look forward to welcoming you
💫INTRODUCING💫
🎤LadyFem; Somatic Dance Facilitator 🎤
LadyFem has been journeying within the embodiment landscape for many years and resonates most deeply with practices steeped in tradition. She is a 300hour certified Somatic Dance Facilitator and Traditional Tantric practitioner.
As a dance floor activator and container creator; she invites others into a fuller, more authentic expression of themselves. Her desire is to support and inspire you into deeper knowing of yourself as the radiant being you are.
🎧🔊Molly Devine; Soundscape Creatrix 🎧🔊
Molly Devine is a lifelong music devotee whose journey has taken her from massive festival stages to intimate dance floors of transformation. Having opened for legends such as Billy Idol and The Doobie Brothers, performed with symphony orchestras, and completed a Master of Music, she brings decades of experience connecting with people through music and brings deep musical intuition into every space she holds. A releasing artist in her own right, Molly crafts music as both expression and offering.
Her transition into ecstatic dance DJing was a natural evolution — combining her love of crowd energy with a deep passion for embodied experience. She played a key role in establishing ecstatic dance in Ōtepoti and has facilitated transformative dance floors for hundreds at festivals including Circulation and Revive. A passionate tangata Tiriti currently immersed in te reo Māori study, she approaches her work grounded in relationship to whenua and community. Her sets are dynamic, cinematic and embodied — weaving euphoria, depth and release into a shared ritual of movement.
