What is Somatic Dance?

The word "Soma" comes from Ancient Greek meaning BODY.

Somatic Dance is a deep connection to our bodies intelligence. It is more than throwing on some music and dancing around the room.

Somatic Dance is a transformative awakening experienced through an intuitive weaving of our mind, body, soul and the elements of nature and the cosmos. Somatic Dance is a fully embodied way to move to the rhythm of our beat. It is in no way structured or choreographed. It is simply a way to trust, to let go, and embrace the calling to your remembrance. You already know how to move your body intuitively, you may need a little reminder. Somatic Dance is apart of you, it is apart of your DNA. We are born to MOVE.

All movements will start together and will be guided by my voice and a soundscape that will be intuitively selected purposefully to weave our breath, our bodies and our surroundings.

This space will be held with respect, it will be guided with softness, to create safety and aroha.
