Anneliese and the Auckland Somatic Dance Collective invite you to move your being this September. This dance will be a little different from our usual offerings; so please read on 😍

  ‘The rumbling’ is a dance exploration into sound and gesture.

😍 This dance will be facilitated and curated by Anneliese Joybody. She has aligned the themes and content of this dance to deeply support the inward journey of Virgo’s grounded depth. She will bring you down to your feet to feel the rumble of the earth and build you toward the cliff tops where you can launch yourself into the realm of ethereal magic. Yes, this is alchemy in motion! It will be fun, it will be deep and meaningful and it will reverberate out into the world 🔥

Somatic Dance is a guided free-form movement journey, delving deep into the layers of the body and psyche. It is held in a non-judgmental space where all of you is invited.

Usually this space is held by a DJ and facilitator, in this case, however the sound scape will be pre-composed and delivered via our awesome sound system 🎶 This is because we want you to move and we are ready to make that happen 🤗

No prior dance experience is necessary and all bodies are welcome 😍

This is a simple invitation to discover how your body wishes to move. The guided facilitation is supported by a carefully curated soundscape designed to help you become embodied.

This dance is an invitation for you to come and move your body to the unique rhythm of you, supporting a deeper connection with yourself and others 💃🕺

This is a space free from alcohol, shoes and talking. Let the epic music and guidance of your facilitator carry you out of your mind and into your body, allowing yourself to experience the transformative power of Somatic Dance! The music takes the form of a wave, beginning gently before building to a peak, then settling back down to land softly and slowly.

We recommend wearing clothes you are comfortable moving in (layers are great), bring along a drink bottle and a drop or two of curiosity!

Our dance spaces are designed for adults to create a space where you are able to freely explore and express your authentic self, in whichever shape and form it happens to be expressing itself. As part of this, we request that alternate arrangements are made to care for any children while you attend. If you have a child you would like to bring along, please reach out to us and we can have a chat about whether it is a possibility.

The location is: Mt Eden Village Centre, 449 Mount Eden Road, Mount Eden, Auckland 1024

We welcome you at any time from 6.45pm for a 7pm start.

$20-$25 per person; cash on the door or through Humanitix 

We have adopted a two tier ticket option:

$20 supported dancers, we want to continue to make our dances accessible

$25 supporting dancers, for those who feel more abundant and are able to support us

If price is a barrier to attending, please reach out to us and we can work something out, an additional hand with tasks on the day is often appreciated.

Anneliese, Somatic Dance Facilitator

Anneliese is a scientist of the soul, a movement guide, mystic, and somatic educator with over 20 years of experience in yoga, Pilates, and the healing arts. My Joy Body is her medium to touch and help as many people as possible, offering journeys which awaken the intelligence of the body. She has a varied and diverse background, from studying ancient Eastern sciences and wisdoms to her current regenerative design work. She is a speaker, coach, teacher, and a lover of all beings.

Anneliese invites you to remember the deep power and pleasure of being alive in your body. Come as you are. Leave as more of yourself.
