Anneliese and BLASE welcome you to our July Somatic Dance offering.

We're stoked to have Anneliese join our collective after recently completing her Somatic Dance teacher training. She joins us with a wealth of embodiment experience and is able to create truly transformative journeys for those she guides. BLASE is returning to our shores after his recent travels, having been offering and guiding potent spaces in Bali - this is going to be a special collaboration between these two forces!

Somatic Dance is a guided free form movement journey, delving deep into the layers of the body and held in a non-judgemental space where all of you is welcome. No prior dance experience is necessary and all bodies are welcome. There are no routines or steps to follow here, simply an invitation to discover how your body wishes to move. The guided facilitation is supported by a carefully curated soundscape overseen by a DJ. 

This dance is an invitation for you to come and move your body to the unique rhythm of you, supporting a deeper connection with yourself and others.

This is a space free from alcohol, shoes and talking. Let the epic music and guidance of your facilitator carry you out of your mind and into your body, allowing yourself to experience the transformative power of Somatic Dance! The music takes the form of a wave, beginning gently before building to a peak, then settling back down to land softly and slowly.

We recommend wearing clothes you are comfortable moving in (layers are great), bring along a drink bottle and a drop or two of curiosity!

Our dance spaces are designed for adults to create a space where you are able to freely explore and express your authentic self, in whichever shape and form it happens to be expressing itself. As part of this, we request that alternate arrangements are made to care for any children while you attend. If you have a child you would like to bring along, please reach out to us and we can have a chat about whether it is a possibility.

The location is: Mt Eden Village Centre, 449 Mount Eden Road, Mount Eden, Auckland 1024

We welcome you at any time from 6.45pm for a 7pm start.

$20-$25 per person; cash on the door or through Humanitix 

We have adopted a two tier ticket option:

$20 supported dancers, we want to continue to make our dances accessible

$25 supporting dancers, for those who feel more abundant and are able to support us

If price is a barrier to attending, please reach out to us and we can work something out, an additional hand with tasks on the day is often appreciated.

Anneliese, Somatic Dance Facilitator

Anneliese is a scientist of the soul, a movement guide, mystic, and somatic educator with over 20 years of experience in yoga, Pilates, and the healing arts. My Joy Body is her medium to touch and help as many people as possible, offering journeys which awaken the intelligence of the body. She has a varied and diverse background, from studying ancient Eastern sciences and wisdoms to her current regenerative design work. She is a speaker, coach, teacher, and a lover of all beings.

Anneliese invites you to remember the deep power and pleasure of being alive in your body. Come as you are. Leave as more of yourself.

BLASE; Soundscape Creator

BLASE is an Auckland based DJ & producer known for his diverse, multi-genre music journeys where dancers are guided on a curious and empowering experience out of the mind and into the body. Blase is an alchemist of frequency and his love for dance and embodiment translates through his music, complimenting the entire journey with highs and lows, making sure every movement possibility is explored.

You can expect a smooth dance wave with Ecstatic highs to deep bassy lows and everything in between. Blase pays particular attention to the subtle energy’s of dance and is always sure to land the dance floor and its nervous system safely back to the Earth before closing.
