Somatic Sounds

Somatic Sounds is the premier concert by the Ekstasis Ensemble, proudly supported by the City of Newcastle. Somatic Sounds will explore compositions by local composers that explore our experience of pain, discomfort, torpor. These complex human experiences are both physical and mental and through music and dance the composers will help shed light on experiences we often don't wish to talk about, but are common to all. 

The concert will presents works by Amanda Sopholos, The Emerald Ruby, Naomi Dart and a contemporary dance piece by Jannah Allen. All artists are local to Newcastle having either grwon up here or live and work here. It is exciting to present so many wonderful local composers and musicians in this premier show.
