Event description
Somatic Stagecraft is a workshop to facilitate ease & range in movement, acting & singing... for creative teens who love to express themselves!
Calling all teens (age 13-18) who love singing, music theatre, acting, and movement!
Come join us for a fun & playful workshop to bring more ease to your voice & body as you express yourself in song, characters, and movement.
Jem Nicholas is an actor, Alexander Technique teacher, comedian, mover & joy-maker.
In this workshop hosted & assisted by Bec Tilley (voice coach), we will playfully explore making sound, speaking and singing while tuning in to the body.
Jem will guide us to play with movement, alignment, and getting to know how we can express ourselves more freely!
Our intention is for you to come away with:
- More connected body awareness
- More ease in the body when moving, singing, and acting
- Physical & vocal warmup tools to use whenever needed
- Prevention of constriction, tightness, discomfort or pain
-
An experience of the voice being more free
- New ways of
experiencing the voice & body while singing, acting, & moving
- An experience of exploring various kinds of characters through movement & voice qualities
- An experience of being
playful & creative in expression!
