Some things never grow old - Elder Abuse Awareness for Service Providers
Event description
Some things never grow old... Respect, dignity and feeling safe never grow old.
The Southern Downs Safe and Savvy Seniors Roadshow - Elder Abuse Awareness for Service Providers, has a host of services to share important information with you about recognising, responding and referring when supporting an older person experiencing abuse.
Whether it’s financial, health or lifestyle decisions, it’s important to understand the rights of the older person, your responsibilities and what services can best support the older person.
Join us for a Q&A-style conversation with special guest panelists who will share their experience and knowledge around elder abuse, supported decision-making, Enduring Powers of Attorney and different strategies that you or an older person that you know can use to ensure that they are treated with respect and dignity and feel safe now and into the future.
Come along and listen to the conversations, ask questions and take away some useful information.
Presented by Southern Downs Regional Council in partnership with UnitingCare - Elder Abuse Prevention Unit (EAPU).
Guest panelists from EAPU, the Office of the Public Guardian, the Public Trustee, Lifeline Darling Downs & South West QLD Ltd, Rural Financial Counselling Service - Southern Queensland, and Services Australia (My Aged Care).
Includes a light lunch and information bags.
This session is FREE to attend, but places are limited, and registration is essential for catering purposes, by Thursday, 12 October 2023.
