Exploring the Making of Somerville House's 125th Anniversary Sculptures

Indulge in drinks and canapes as we gather to hear from renowned artist and Old Girl, Dr Rhyl Hinwood, as she shares her vision and inspiration behind the creation of three bronze statues immortalising the Founders of Somerville House: Miss Eliza Fewings, Miss Constance Harker, and Miss Marjorie Jarrett. These statues, to be positioned in the Fewings Precinct, represent a profound tribute to our school's heritage and legacy.

Time: 6:15pm - Arrival for a prompt 6:30pm start, concluding at 8:30pm
Venue: Honour Room, Level 7 Foundation Building, Somerville House, 17 Graham Street, South Brisbane.

Parking: Parking will be available in the Foundation (Gate 1), VPAC (Gate 6) and MESAC (Gate 11 via Stephens Road) car parks.
Hosted by the Somerville House Foundation and Old Girls’ Association, this evening promises insights into the rich history, cherished traditions, and enduring community spirit of Somerville House.
Students of Somerville House are invited to attend the event with their families. We kindly request that students wear their winter uniforms, as alcohol will be served at this event.
