Californian Wines: A Masterclass [VIC]

Sommeliers Australia members are invited to attend Californian Wines: A Masterclass, conducted in collaboration with Jackson Family Wines.

Hosted in Melbourne by Best Sommelier of Australia 2021, Chris Ryan (Cumulus Inc), with Sommeliers Australia’s Loic Avril (Lucas Group) and Hugh Waterman from Jackson Family Wines, this masterclass will showcase how California’s American Viticulture Areas (AVAs) influence three standout varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel, finishing with a look at the ultra-premium, modern classic, Verité.

Each bracket will have a specific focus, featuring wines from a variety of producers:

Chardonnay – Cool climate expressions of California

Pinot Noir – The future of Burgundian varieties in Santa Barbara

Zinfandel – USA and the resurrection of Zinfandel
