The Ancient Cradle: Wines from Armenia, Georgia, Greece & Turkey [VIC]

    Event description

Cast a flaming torch on the relics of a distant past and unearth something unique in the world of wine, from the cradle of civilisation.

Throughout the ages, Armenia, Georgia, Greece & Turkey have seen many different ages, peoples, conquerors, liberators. While their disparate wine cultures may not sit at the forefront of the wine lens, each country's wine history has an important place nonetheless.

Join Sommeliers Australia's Wiremu Andrews (Dearth of a Salesman) and special guest winemaker Robert Paul (Lokum Wines) for this masterclass, as they explore wines from the ancient birthplace of wine. Encounter difficult to pronounce varieties from a true mosaic of geological makeup and experience both traditional methods and modern-day winemaking techniques.

    About our guest...

Robert Paul has made wine in Turkey for many years, and since 2007 has been growing the indigenous Turkish variety BoÄŸazkere (pronounced: bow-aahz-keh-reh), which he grows in Dookie, VIC.
