Song Ceremony with Dogwood

Event description

Join Amy Terepka and Saliha Abrams for an afternoon adventure to visit a wise, old Grandmother Dogwood tree on Powell butte.

This will be a devotional afternoon spent in communion with Dogwood, a spirit of beauty and grace. We’ll create ceremony, sing medicine songs, learn to sound the medicine of Dogwood through our unique vocal channel, and sit in silent meditation with Dogwood. (You definitely don't have to have a "good" voice to join us! All experiences welcome)

Holding plant ceremony and singing with the plants are ancestral practices that help us remember how to be in relationship with the forces of nature. They are greatly appreciated by the plants, and they feed our deep soul-selves.

Dogwood can help us hold both our shadow and our light with equal love and acceptance, helping us find clarity and equanimity within. From that place of wholeness, aligned with our internal power, we can move more authentically in the world.

Dogwood loves to be honored, and when we come together to honor her spirit, we all receive.

(We experience dogwood as a feminine energy, so therefore use she/her pronouns when talking about her. Others could perceive Dogwood as masculine or non-binary, and we welcome everyone having their own experience!)

Come find out what the Dogwood spirit has to share with you!

TOGETHER IN COMMUNITY YOU WILL:
