Song For Bob ' 26
Event description
This summer, the Sapphire Coast comes together for a day of music, love, and connection with Song For Bob, a community-driven live music event raising awareness and funds for mental health and suicide prevention.
What began in January 2023 as a one-off memorial gig to honour the life of Bob Harris, a beloved father, friend, and local musician, has grown into an annual gathering that celebrates connection, compassion, and the healing power of music.
Over the past three years, the Song for Bob has hosted close to 500 attendees each year, more than 35 amazing musical acts, and raised over $20,000 for RUOK? and other South Coast mental health charities. It’s a true grassroots effort powered entirely by friends, family, and neighbours who give their time, skills, and heart to make it happen.
This year’s event will see 15 acts across two stages, featuring a dynamic mix of local legends and guest performers, including Nancy and the Jam Fancys, Crocodylus, Hugh Jass, Petrol Bomb, Last Minute, Val Moogz, The Cracked Tiles, Mister Rees & Friends, Lillian McVeity, Cody Munro Moore, Swell Records DJs, DJ YouTube, Third Ear, Guitarama, and Chelsy Atkins.
Song For Bob transforms heartbreak into hope, keeping Bob’s spirit alive while opening conversations that can change, and even save, lives. Event organiser Jay Harris says
“Song For Bob is about turning heartbreak into hope,” says Jay. “It’s a way to remember Dad and remind people that no one should have to face their struggles alone.”
All proceeds go directly toward mental health initiatives and community programs that provide help where it’s needed most.
