Brahms Horn Trio, Op.40: Friday November 22nd
Event description
Johannes Brahms was a gentle soul who held a close bond with mother. As a boy, while his father was earning a living as a travelling musician, his home life was handled with care by his mother who managed the house and introduced Brahms to literature and music that would leave a deep mark on him. When Brahms lost his mother at the age of 32, he was bereft and fell into a depression. He retreated to the woods in Baden-Baden and wrote the hauntingly beautiful Trio in E-Flat Major, Op. 40 for Violin, Horn and Piano.Â
Join violinist Anna da Silva Chen, hornist Sydney Braunfeld and pianist Lee Dionne as they share their unique interpretation of this beloved work.Â
