Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts proudly partners with APRA AMCOS NZ (Australasian Performing Right Association NZ) to present Songwriters Speaks
Featuring acclaimed songwriters as they share the stories behind their waiata and compositions, offering personal insights into where the words come from.
Hosted by Festival Co-Director Tama Waipara MNZM, this event brings the abundance of their musical kete for all to enjoy.
Soulful singer-songwriter MAJIC and Torres Strait “guitar virtuoso” Chris Tamwoy unite for their Aotearoa debut. Prolific as individual artists, they collaborated through APRA AMCOS NZ SongHubs, resulting in the recent release of their bilingual waiata “Malu Tangata”.
One of Aotearoa’s most exciting new artists, rapper and singer-songwriter MĀ brings her genre-blending sound to Tāwhiri Warehouse. Seamlessly fusing neo-soul, jazz, and hip hop, you can catch her performance at 10pm on Saturday 28th Feb - buy tickets here
