Event description

Four of the NT's finest folk/country voices join each other on stage for a Nashville style songwriters in the round.

Sally Balfour’s music is not just a collection of songs; it’s an experience that lingers, resonating long after the last note fades. Her melodies are sweet yet pack a punch, offering too much depth to be considered whimsical. Raised in the heart of the Northern Territory, where she was immersed in folk music before she could walk, Sally’s voice captures the vastness of the desert and the refreshing rains of the wet season.

Alice Cotton's music defies categorisation, blending indie-folk, alt-country, and alt-rock. With infectious songs that "hit you with the depth and breadth of her storytelling" (triple j), and fresh off a double finalist nomination in the 2024 NT Music Awards, Alice Cotton is solidifying her place as one of Australia's exciting new voices.

Darwin-based songwriter Crystal Robins brings to the stage her heartfelt folk and alt-country flavoured original songs. Layering stunning vocals with intricate guitar playing, Crystal is excited to share songs and stories from her debut full-length album, inspired by her home in the tropical north on Larrakia country.

Troubadour Emmy Ryan crafts contemporary folk songs with a heart tuned to protest, poetry, and red earth. Her voice aches with feeling and holds the line with grace, while her deft mandolin and guitar work support lyrics that speak truth with tenderness. Music that lives between lullaby and reckoning for those seeking beauty, courage, and connection.
