As a community musician, Dr Kathleen Turners work is primarily concerned with facilitating and supporting the creativity of others. With that in mind, reflexivity is a key component of her longevity and well-being - she regularly needs to step back, take time to consider the breadth and depth of the practice and critically examine her role as facilitator.

Over the past twenty years, songs and stories have become a vital part of her reflexivity tool-kit. They help her to make meaning of complex experiences, express feelings, examine ideas and consciously carry the learning that resides in her body forward into her work and life as an artist academic. In this session, Kathleen will discuss why and how she write songs and stories, sing and tell some examples, and facilitate a discussion on how our creativity might support our reflexive work at the service of our longevity and well-being.
