British Cellist Dr. Sophie Webber, whose "every note has meaning rather as a look or a touch does" (Gramophone), joins forces with Indonesian-born pianist Ines Irawati, "one of the most vital, imaginative, artistic young people on the scene" (The Plain Dealer), for “Love Letters,” a concert of romantic works for cello and piano, inspired by an assortment of real life romantic entanglements. From Fauré and Brahms to Elgar and De Falla, the varied program explores some of love’s many guises, from an earthly to divine love, passion to betrayal, reverie to sweet nostalgia.
