5pm: Aletta Louise Alette Louse writes about her new album: "Lagu was created as a love letter to home, whatever that may feel like in a specific time or place. Lagu means Song or Melody in Indonesia; it is also found in Old English poetry to describe the Sea, Ocean or Moving Water. It was an album mostly written whilst living in London, and missing my home and family a great deal, where I grew up on Darug Land in so-called Australia, a vast ocean away from the UK. The title is also a tribute to my Indo and English/German heritage, a collection of cultures and histories situated far away from one another. The Pacific Ocean links these cultures, both geographically and tracing through my family history. I would spend hours outside where possible while living in London, collecting sounds from the traffic outside to synthesise into remnants of, and love letters, to the Pacific Ocean and the places that remind me of home. This became somewhat of an obsession to get me through two long Winters overseas. Visiting home and family once in the long time spent abroad, I collected and recorded files to further this experimentation with sound and environment (The Birdsong Interludes and Fire). Lorikeets was recorded several years before my move to London. Lagu is an album I created to dream, relax, or dive into memory"

6pm: Keyna Wilkins Described as a “powerhouse player” by Jazz Journal UK, Keyna Wilkins will present music for flute, looper, and piano inspired by astronomy, human rights, & thoughts. Keyna Wilkins is a trailblazing Australian/British composer, musician, radio presenter and human rights advocate. An unapologetically genre-bending creative force, her work merges her classical training with jazz, flamenco, and the avant garde, and includes First Nations and refugee collaborations as well as large orchestral works. Twice shortlisted for the Australian Art Music Awards for Individual Excellence (APRA AMCOS, 2018 and 2021), and described as a “powerhouse player” by Jazz Journal UK, Keyna Wilkins will present music for flute, looper, and piano inspired by astronomy, human rights, & thoughts. She also recorded a new album, "Time and Chance," in early 2026, based on improvisations to a metronome using musical dice, and she will play tracks from it at this event.

7pm: Sora-Jackson DuoIt started with Ewan’s seven year stint in London. After training as a session guitarist and songwriter at the British Institute of Music, he moved to Sydney, Australia. It was here that he met Mikaela, a classical pianist who had graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music that same year. The two fell in love and have been inseparable ever since. Coming from two distinct musical worlds, they first found common ground playing jazz standards. It soon became clear that they spoke the same poetic language and began to write with their duo in mind. This instrumental combination, where harmonic and melodic material can be shared, is a flexible framework to form an intimate and dynamic dialogue, a sound world that can range from bell-like to percussive. Mikaela and Ewan draw from a diverse range of stylistic influences, from impressionist and Soviet jazz schools, to the likes of Julian Lage. They play their music in Sydney on unceded Gadigal land.
