Event description

Adulthood: a confusing mix of insurance premiums, emotional spirals, and wondering if you’ve accidentally signed a 30-year mortgage or just a gym contract. At some point, we all clocked that we were taught how to dissect a frog and write an essay on Shakespeare, but not how to ask for a raise, spot a walking red flag, or survive perimenopause without Googling 'am I dying?'

Enter Sort Your Life Out - a brand new national event series by Blabla Events (recently named one of NZ’s Top 4 Emerging Event Professionals). We’re kicking it all off in Tauranga with a fast, funny, and genuinely useful crash course in the life skills you should’ve learned but somehow didn’t.

Hosted by the iconic Cassie Roma (The Apprentice, Celebrity Treasure Island & Former head of Marketing for Air NZ, ANZ & The Warehouse Group), this no-BS evening is packed with practical wisdom from people who know their stuff.

THE 4 EXPERTS:

Cassie Roma - Boss Up Your Career Moves
Cassie is an award-winning creative leader, storyteller, and certified life & career coach who’s held senior roles at Air New Zealand, ANZ, The Warehouse, and NZME. At Sort Your Life Out, Cassie will unpack the big questions: when and how to ask for a raise, how to know when it’s time to move on to greater things, and how to actually take that leap. She’ll also explore the confidence gap between women and men in the workplace, and how we can flip the script. She’s also your MC for the night, so you’re in brilliant, bold hands from start to finish.

The Hormone Hotline - Periods, Perimenopause & Menopause
Dr Maria Eastwood, Dr Tracy Ball, and Dr Jenny Hill are three of the most trusted menopause specialists in Aotearoa, and they’re bringing their combined decades of experience straight to the Sort Your Life Out stage. These wāhine are all qualified GPs and certified through the Australasian Menopause Society, and together they’ve supported thousands of people through some of the most confusing, under-discussed phases of adult health.

At Sort Your Life Out, they’ll break down the wild world of hormones, from irregular periods to hot flushes, brain fog, mood swings, insomnia, libido loss, and more. You’ll learn what’s normal, what’s not, how to advocate for yourself at the doctors office, and what practical support is actually out there. Their session is honest, empowering, and long overdue. And yes, you’ll have the chance to ask them questions (anonymous box included for the spicy ones).

Graham Lockhart - Self-Defence Without the BS
Graham runs 'Krav Maga' and is the real deal - he’s been teaching practical self-defence across the country for over 15 years, helping everyone from solo mums to social workers, teachers to teens. At Sort Your Life Out, he’s bringing the goods: simple, no-BS physical moves to get out of sticky situations, self defence in the worst case scenario, and the subtle warning signs to look for before things even go there. You’ll walk out feeling like a slightly unhinged ninja (in the best way.)

Sean Cunningham - First Aid for When Brunch Goes Bad
What if your mate’s choking on halloumi? Or your flatmate goes full chaos trying to deep-fry something at 1am? Before the ambulance shows up, you are the first responder, and Sean’s here to show you what to do.
Originally from Galway, Sean has over 20 years’ experience in emergency care and rescue, including helicopter missions in Tongariro National Park. He’s trained everyone from lifeguards to ski patrollers to festival crews across Aotearoa. His session is a hands-on crash course in how to keep someone alive, calm, and safe until help arrives, minus the jargon, with a few 'this one time' stories, and with a bit of Irish banter.

And because life is better with kai, Sicula Pizza will be slinging delicious woodfired pizzas and more on the night for purchase, with a full bar serving both alcoholic and zero-alcohol options, including non-alcoholic bubbly & beers.

Strictly R18. Tickets are non-refundable. Because, you know… grown-up stuff.
