Soul Food - Comida para el Alma

This Halloween, GRUEL and CDMX Brunswick East are joining forces for a Dia de los Muertos celebration drawing on traditions from across Latin America and beyond.

We'll be serving four courses to feed your living soul while honouring those passed, exploring the crossover of customs and ingredients across place. It may sound somber but it's gonna be a party, we promise! DJ Chico Tecno will be joining us for the night and we'll have a few special cocktails on offer to complement our menu.

• Fiambre

Guatemalan chilled salad – heart of palm, potato, radish, olives and grilled corn tossed in herb sauce, topped with pickled onions and soft-boiled egg

• Pan de muerto + calabaza en taza + queso

Mexican sweet bread + spiced candied pumpkin + cheese

• Mushroom enfrijoladas + pozole

Pulled mushroom and cheese-stuffed corn tortillas with black bean sauce and avocado + chilli and hominy stew

• Biko 

Filipino-style caramelised glutinous rice cake
