The etymology of the word psychedelic has long been understood to mean "mind-manifesting." However, the original meaning of psyche referred to the soul, resonating with the term entheogen, originally meaning "to be inspired or possessed by God." Both terms tell us there is a psycho-spiritual process of the soul within the psychedelic experiences.
