We are excited to announce a special SoulPlay community concert series, an opportunity for us to come together in sweetness on a casual and more regular basis.

Introducing... 2nd Sunday Sofa Sessions at the Back Room in Berkeley!

Expect sweet sounds from super talented musicians, a laid back atmosphere, and cuddles on the venue's super cozy all sofa seating, 

A perfect way to end a weekend. Come tuck yourself in with us.

LINEUP

  • February 9th
    • Lauren Arrow & the Big Effin' Sing - Lauren Arrow (she/her) is a queer Jewitch song-tender and facilitator whose main joy is sharing music and helping folks reclaim their voice and bloom into their creativity. Her music brings strong reminders of self-love, acceptance and purpose and her performances are engaging and heart utterly warming.

The Back Room is an intimate place for music. Relaxed seating in comfy sofas with all eyes on the stage. There is no beverages or food available but you are welcome to bring your own.

Closest BART Station is Downtown Berkeley, about a 10 minute walk.

March 9th

  • Lydia Violet - Lydia Violet is an Iranian-Armenian-American folk multi-instrumentalist, revolution-bringer, culture-tender, grief-worker, and mischief-maker. With her live band, she weaves together her songwriting, folk standards, Iranian ballads, 3-part harmonies, fiddle tunes, banjo, and collective singing into an altar of music for the troubles of our time. She'll be sharing a "stomp 'n sing" with lively back and forth between soulful songs and songs that bring in the audience community singing style, in an inclusive and accessible way.
