Sound Advice: Tamworth, Let's Talk Touring

This event has passed Register

Event description

Whether you call Tamworth home or you're passing through for the Country Music Festival, this is your invitation to join a gathering of like-minded artists and music industry folks. Attend to uncover invaluable tips for touring shared by artists who have paved their own way to success then stick around to rub shoulders with industry movers and shakers and forge connections and collaborations for the year to come.

You’ll hear from:

Allison Forbes

5x CMAA Golden Guitars finalist, new-age country music outlaw Allison Forbes is at the very top of her game. Her debut album ‘Bonedigger’, produced by ARIA-winner Shane Nicholson, debuted at #1 on the ARIA Australian country music charts and was the highest-selling independent artist in the country across all genres. Her latest album ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ was a finalist in the 2023 Golden Guitar Awards.

Andy Golledge

Andy’s name is folklore from regional NSW to inner Sydney, known for his exhilarating live shows and the curveballs of his repertoire. His debut album ‘Strength of a Queen’ won ‘Best Independent Country Album/EP’ at the AIR Awards 2023, was #3 on ARIA's Top Vinyl Albums, #4 on ARIA's Australian Country Albums, and also nominated for ‘Best Country Album’ at the 2022 ARIA Awards and ‘Best Alternative Country Album’ at the 2023 CMAA Golden Guitar Awards.

Joey Leigh Wagtail

Singer-songwriter Joey Leigh Wagtail, an 893rd generation Dunghutti man, has created a seemingly effortless sound that tears your heartstrings then heals them — rockin’ blues on Country. Joey showcased his debut album ‘Delusions of Grandeur’ at BIGSOUND 2023 following a six-month residency at Sydney’s Powerhouse as part of Create NSW's Generations New Music Early Career Fellowship.

Cheryl Brown

As the daughter of the late “Gentleman” Geoff Brown and sister of guitar picker & studio operator Gary and sound man Greg, Cheryl Brown has naturally been involved in country music all her life. She now manages Country Music Capital News - Australia's Only Monthly Country Music magazine, the Official Guide to the Tamworth Country Music Festival, and the Toyota Star Maker competition (now in its 42nd year). Her goal is to do whatever she can to create interest in country music nationally and internationally.

Presented by MusicNSW with support from Create NSW, APRA AMCOS and Arts North West, this panel and networking opportunity is not to be missed for artists and industry alike. There's limited spots available - register now.
