From the Perspective of Earth by Elly Kace + Sound Bath by Genosis

A journey through the planets, and a gentle return to Earth.

Behind an unassuming entrance in DTLA, Bu Tea Den opens into a hidden tea lounge and creative space. Soft lighting, custom-built automated fortune telling machines and thoughtful comforts welcome you the moment you arrive.

Wednesday, October 28: From the Perspective of Earth
This week, we are honored to present From the Perspective of Earth, which Brooklyn sound healer and composer Elly Kace calls “a wordless, genreless expression of the planets.” Each track belongs to a different planet, drifting from near-silent ambience to gentle grooves and back again. Elly, a lyric soprano who has performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, shares this album only in person, and her listening gatherings have sold out in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Chicago. This is a rare chance to experience it in Los Angeles.

Genosis (HERO + Genesis) will guide you through the 40-minute album, played in 10.1.4 hi-fi surround sound with projected visuals, then carry it into a 30-minute live sound bath using HERO’s global collection of instruments. It is an evening of listening together: a journey outward through the solar system, followed by a grounded landing back home.

No experience is needed. Simply arrive as you are, and allow the sound to do the rest.

Every detail, attended to.
Upon arrival, slip off your shoes and into spa slippers. With an eye mask, a warm or cool towel and a comfortable place to rest, it is restorative care in a setting that feels personal, creative and entirely unexpected.

  • A 90-minute experience: 70 minutes of sound, followed by 20 minutes of tea as you ease back into your evening

  • First-time guests receive a silk eye mask and spa slippers as our gift. Returning guests are welcome to bring theirs back, and single-use items are always available.

Your place in the room
Our team will help you settle in. You may recline on a yoga mat for a deeply restful experience, or relax in a lounge chair for a more upright way of listening. Join us on your own or share the evening with someone special.
