Sound Healing, Yoga Nidra, Tea and Conversation
Event description
Experience the deeply relaxing and restorative practices of Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing with Wendy Clarity Van Dort in the Joy Space.
Yoga Nidra literally translates as "Yogic Sleep". It is a deeply nourishing and restorative practice that progressively moves through deeper states of relaxation. The practice is done mostly lying down with the use of props such as bolsters and blankets for support.
The sounds of Tibetan bowls, Quartz crystal bowls, gong, drum, chimes and mantra are woven into the experience to create a sound scape that allows you to linger in the state of NON-DOING so that the body can truly rest.
Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing are both ancient practices that provide a holistic approach to overall well-being. The natural healing process is activated through tapping into your own inner wisdom. In other words, building a bridge of trust and a FELT SENSE of understanding that your body knows how to heal itself, if you allow it to.
Wendy has been offering sound healing meditations to the local community for the past 10 years. She has completed many yoga teacher trainings in classical Hatha, Yin, Yoga Nidra, Restorative yoga and more recently, trauma-informed yoga.
She was taught how to play the Tibetan bowls through local healer, Catreeana Saunders and has completed a Certificate in Sound Healing. She will continue her studies in sound healing this year.
Arrive at 6.45pm to settle in for a 7pm start.
Yoga mats, bolsters and blankets are provided. Please feel free to bring a cushion or pillow for your head and an extra blanket if you have one. The idea is for you to be as comfortable as possible ideally in a lying position. You may also want to bring writing materials if you like to journal about your experience.
The session will end at around 8:30pm.
We then invite you the option to stay in quiet contemplation or to chat with others over a cup of tea until 9pm. This allows time for grounding and integration.
