Sound Medicine Hike by the Birrarung
Restore Your Wellbeing by the Birrarung
Join Warburton local Catherine Marty, creator of Sound Medicine Hikes, for a unique nature-based experience along the beautiful Birrarung.
Drawing on her professional background as an ecotherapist, sound healing practitioner, teacher and facilitator, Catherine will guide you on a restorative journey designed to nurture wellbeing and deepen your connection with nature.
The experience includes a gentle walk beside the Birrarung, guided forest bathing practices, and the opportunity to listen to the fascinating sounds of plant music, where specialised technology translates the electrical activity of living plants into ambient melodies.
The journey concludes with a relaxing outdoor sound healing session featuring Native American flutes, singing bowls, drums, chimes and voice, creating a peaceful and immersive experience in nature.
Suitable for all abilities, this experience can be adapted for children or adults.
This event is being generously hosted by Dare to Change.
Before you book…
Most Riverfest events are free, and many have limited places with long waitlists. Please only book if you're confident you can attend, so others don't miss out. Bookings are limited to 2 tickets for smaller events and 4 tickets for larger events.
Can't make it? Please cancel your ticket by opening your Humanitix confirmation email and selecting 'Manage Order'. Your place will then be released to someone on the waitlist. If you need assistance, contact us by email: riverfest@yarrariver.org.au
Events will proceed unless severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances require a change. If this happens, registered participants will be notified by email.
Accessibility
Oscar’s on the Yarra offers onsite car parking and three toilets for participants. The event will take place on the property’s private riverside grounds, providing a spacious and quieter setting for the experience.
The session includes a gentle walk, forest bathing activities and an outdoor sound healing experience. Participants may be seated or lying on the ground during the sound healing component, and a small number of chairs will be available for anyone who would find sitting or lying on the ground difficult.
In the event of wet weather, an indoor function room is available, allowing the session to be adapted if required.
We welcome people of all abilities. If you have specific accessibility requirements or would like to discuss whether the experience is suitable for you, please contact the event host before booking so they can discuss how best to support your participation.
