    Event description

Join us Thursday 11th April from 5pm at The Gov, Adelaide for our inaugural Sound Minds x Yarning Strong on Kaurna Country as we explore the evolution of life in the music biz.

Growing in the music industry involves navigating a complex landscape of decisions and partnerships. As your career in music gains momentum, engaging a team becomes crucial. When and how do you decide to take the next steps? Who do you choose to be in your team?  And how do you looking after your mental health and wellbeing along your journey of growth in the industry? Everyone’s journey is unique and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Join Nancy Bates (Barkindji Woman and accomplished singer-songwriter) as host alongside J-MILLA, Marlon Motlop and Tilly Tjala Thomas at this First Nations focused Yarning Strong X Sound Minds panel discussion and networking event.

If you’re curious to learn more about how working in the Australian music industry offers unique and unpredictable challenges this is a space where you can pitch questions to one of Support Act’s team members, the panel and music industry guests, and engage in conversation-starter prompts to connect with like-minded attendees about their experience working in Aussie music.

This event will provide catering, tea, coffee and beverages, accompanied by a short performance following the panel.

Please join us at 5pm for a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country.

Panellists: Nancy Bates (Host), J-MILLA, Marlon Motlop and Tilly Tjala Thomas

    Performance: SCOTT RATHMAN JR

Proudly supported by the South Australian Government as part of the See it LIVE music package.
