(See also Sound moves: Eurythmy – Poetry in Motion ~ with Nicole Peterson)
Have you ever wondered what a word might look like in movement? How a different piece of music might move, were it given legs? What about a lie or double-speak – how might that be seen? Eurythmy movement invites us right ‘inside’ the gestures of sounds, going beyond ourselves and into a united experience through the revelation of the poetry or music being worked with.
These introduction-to-Eurythmy classes welcome all people into the gentle, rhythmic movements of Eurythmy as we play with, explore and reveal the inner qualities of speech or music. Eurythmy is a new movement art created by Rudolf Steiner with branches in the performing, pedagogical and healing arts.
Expect rhythms, working with copper rods, gestures for vowels and consonants, pitch and melodies, and a whole lot of wholesome human-filled, heart-strengthening fun!
No prior Eurythmy or dance experience necessary; just an open mind. All bodies and movement abilities welcome.

Nicole Peterson loves to move. She is a Canadian born, Perth raised Eurythmist who graduated from The American Eurythmy School in California in 2011. Since then she has carried on further training and performance work in Anthroposophical arts in Switzerland, while teaching Eurythmy in blocks – here there and everywhere. She has a passion for how Eurythmy brings healing through social experience, listening and becoming present.
