Event description

Sound Sanctuary
Sound Bath Meditation for Families - Parents/Guardians & 8-14 year olds

This is the launch of a new session that has been created specifically for Families!!

Following the requests of parents/guardians and from witnessing the effects of the sound work that Anita has carried out in the community and with Inschool Yoga within primary schools and high schools in Perth Boorloo.

It is also a wonderful invitation for families and guardians of 8-14 year olds to establish offline time to come together, stop, rest, connect and practice 'presence' in a safe space.

Through a combination of rhythm, vibration, melody and tone, Anita will create a 'Sound Sanctuary' with her carefully chosen instruments, vocals and intuitive musicality while attendees rest and listen in stillness, and will involve:

* Slow and basic stretching for grounding to open and close the 'Sound Sanctuary'

* Guided meditation

* Sound Bath meditation

* Please arrive 10-15 mins before the session starts to allow for some time to settle.
The door will be locked promptly at 3pm to secure our safe 'Sound Sanctuary'

What to bring

Yoga mat, pillow, blanket, eye pillow, water bottle - whatever you require to make yourselves comfortable.

Parking

Free Parking is available on Angove Street and Vine Street.

Contraindications for Parents/Guardians
While generally safe, sound baths for children, like for adults, may not be suitable for those with certain medical conditions or sensitivities, especially those with epilepsy, heart conditions, hearing aids. It is always best to consult a healthcare professional beforehand.

  • Mental Health Conditions: If you or your child has a severe or clinical mental health condition, consult with your doctor or mental health professional before attending a sound bath.
  • Sensitivity to Sound: If your child is particularly sensitive to loud or unusual sounds, it's important to consider their comfort level and potential triggers before attending a sound bath.

General Considerations for Children:

  • Quiet and Still: Some children may find it difficult to remain quiet and still for the duration of the sound bath, which could be disruptive to other participants. The section involving the sound bath mediation will be approx 30 mins as a gauge for parents/guardians to consider.
  • Parent/Guardian Supervision: A parent or guardian must accompany the child/ren to ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Communicate with the Practitioner: Inform the sound bath practitioner about any medical conditions or sensitivities before the session so  adjustments can be made as needed.
  • Personal Comfort: Ultimately, you know your child/ren best. If at any point they feel uncomfortable during a session, it's okay to stop, take a break, or ask for adjustments.

NOTE:  Anita Emor has a valid Working with Children Card and St John Ambulance First Aid certificate
