Sounds Australia and Australian Music Centre Present: A CONVERSATION ON EXPORT
Event description
Sounds Australia and Australian Music Centre present A Conversation On Export, a discussion lead by Glenn Dickie with Adam Davison, Professor Cat Hope, Daryl Buckley, Genevieve Lacey, Melanie Pose, Peter Knight and Robin Fox.
This post Art Music Awards discussion and panel directly follows the AMC Breakfast on Thursday August 15 will focus on sharing ideas, insights and strategies specifically for those working in contemporary Jazz, Classical and Art Music to better prepare for international activity.
The opportunities for Australians working outside of the traditional “pop” structure to tap into the global market and build an international career are becoming more accessible - at the same time, there have never been more challenges: whether it's shifting trends, increasing costs of doing business, or an abundance of competition, we want to bring this community together and speak about the difficulties and more importantly the potential outside of Australian borders.
Hosted by Sounds Australia, this export discussion is designed to help put you, your artist and/or your music business in the best position to grow your international presence.
The afternoon will be split into two parts: A brief Sounds Australia Export Masterclass, where you’ll learn more about what the organisation does, why they exist, and how you can use their showcases and networking events to further your international career. Plus, you’ll get advice on how to best prepare for showcasing internationally, as well as insights into all the funding opportunities available.
The second part will feature a panel of experts working across Jazz, Contemporary Classical and Sound Design who will give you a realistic look at what it takes as an Australian to cut through the noise internationally.
This event is designed for everyone working across these genres in any capacity.
