Event description
About the Class:
Sourdough Pasta and Sauce!
Everyone is talking about Sourdough Bread and it's easy to understand why but, what about all the delicious and nourishing food you can make with sourdough discard? The possibilities are endless! In this hands on class, devoted to your sour dough discard, you will learn how to make hand made sourdough pasta served with Ragu!! As well you will receive the gift of a developed sourdough starter that Ashley has replicated for you from her own and a detailed recipe booklet with process images, recipes from class, and resources that will support and guide you on your journey with handmade sourdough pasta. We will conclude class with a family style meal served up around the MAP community kitchen table. You will leave the class feeling prepared and well fed. This class is great for beginners or for those looking to expand their understanding of sourdough.
About the Instructor:
My name is Ashley Smith and I am a mamma, artist, health enthusiast, homesteader, mentor, and a self taught cook who loves to share what I have learned and practice with others. I believe cooking is a sacred process of daily life that is both practical and magical. I also believe that practices involving food are a doorway towards our individual and collective healing. Gathering and cooking together is a way to experience joy, connection, and gain confidence and skills. Working contemplatively in the garden, kitchen, and at the dinner table with food is a way to deepen our relationship with the food we eat, ourselves, others, and the land we live on.
