You're invited: South Australian bird flu community forum

South Australia continues to respond to detections of H5 bird flu across the state.

To help keep communities informed, the South Australian Government is hosting a community forum at Willunga on Tuesday 6 October 2026 (please note the date for this event has changed - it was previously scheduled for Monday 21 September).

This forum will provide updates on the current preparedness measures in place, as well as the animal, human and environmental health considerations.

You’ll hear from government leaders and experts including the Minister for Climate, Environment and Water and Minister for Tourism, the Hon. Emily Bourke MLC, and representatives from the Department of Primary Industries and Regions South Australia, Department for Environment and Water and SA Health.

The forum will feature expert presentations on bird flu, public health advice and safety, and include a panel Q&A.

There will be opportunities for attendees to share insights and ask questions.

Forums are free and open to the public.

Registration is essential.
