Event description

Register to attend the Veterans SA April Community Connection event.

Veterans SA has partnered with MESHA and Open Door to present the first Community Connection event of 2024.

First introduced in 2023, Community Connection events are designed to facilitate connection and collaboration across veteran community organisations as well as provide education to the wider veteran community on topics of interest.

Featuring enlightening presentations delivered by experts across different subject areas, the events aim to raise awareness about findings from veteran research studies, as well as highlight the broad range of services available to veterans and their families. The events also facilitate connection and help organisations to identify opportunities to work together with other groups to meet the needs of the community.

The April Community Connection event will be focused on ‘Employment’, covering research undertaken and programs available to support veterans and ADF partners to find employment following service.

The presentation line-up includes:

  • Veterans SA - General update on current veteran employment data and background.
  • MESHA - Programs offered by MESHA to support employment.
  • Phoenix Australia - A presentation on their research exploring predictors of employment.
  • Open Door - Future directions for education and employment.

Presentations will be followed by a networking morning tea, where employment service providers will be available for participants speak to.

This is a free veteran community event, supported by Veterans SA.

Who should attend?

Representatives from veteran service providers, student veteran groups, companies with veteran employment programs and community groups offering services to veterans, as well as veterans and ADF partners seeking to learn more about employment support and services available in South Australia are encouraged to attend.
