2025 South Coast Latte Art Smackdown

The South Coast’s biggest celebration of coffee and community is back! We’re bringing together baristas and coffee lovers from the Vic border to the Snowy Mountains and all the way up to Bateman’s Bay for a night of friendly competition, free brews, and good vibes.

ONA Coffee's Hany Ezzat — Barista Champion and legend of the industry — will provide the soundtrack and keep things in order as MC. Expect complimentary snacks and brews by TOAST and Frogs Hollow Brewing Co, with other drinks available to purchase.

Competition Format

• 24 spots available for competitors

• $20 competitor entry fee (profits from the event go to the Social Justice Advocates of the Sapphire Coast)

  Spectators free entry (registration required)

Rules & Judging:

• Head-to-head knockout format

• Pour set by MC unless otherwise specified

• Judged by simultaneous point-voting from our 3 visual judges

• One technical judge per competitor

• Jugs provided (BYO welcome)

• Alternative Dairy Co. plant milk supplied for stretching & pouring

• Etching only in free pour rounds

• Drinks judged on contrast, style, and difficulty (not WCE rules)

• Cups must be clean & free of spills — once placed, no touching!

• Watch out for curveball wildcard rounds…
