South Maroubra Crayweed Community Planting
Event description
Please join us at our first crayweed community planting of the year!
WHAT: A talk by Operation Crayweed scientists on the shoreline in front of the South Maroubra crayweed restoration site, and a session measuring and sexing (yes, you will learn how to tell male and female crayweed apart!) crayweed right before they get planted by our scuba divers.
WHERE: Coordinates: -33.954301, 151.259422. Park at the South Maroubra Beach car park and follow the walking path towards Malabar Headland. You will find us on the rocky shore.
WHEN: Friday 7th of March. This event is WEATHER DEPENDENT. It might be cancelled if conditions aren't good. Please register for the event with an e-mail address you regularly check, as we will announce whether the event is cancelled.
WHO: All welcome! We have capped the event as our staffing capacity is limited, so please RSVP.
WHAT TO BRING: There is no shade at this site. Please wear a hat and sun protection, and water/snacks. Please bring gardening/working gloves if you want to handle the crayweed. We are on the rocky shore so please wear appropriate footwear, flip flops are discouraged.
