South West Local Government Public Health Planning Forum
Event description
This workshop is designed to provide South West Local Governments with the data, support, and tools necessary to develop Public Health Plans. Whether you're managing the process internally or working with consultants, this session will focus on key aspects of pre-planning and the development or review of a health status report, ensuring a solid foundation for your Plan.
The workshop is suitable for anyone involved in the development or review of Public Health Plans, including Environmental Health Officers and Community Development Officers.
Gain practical skills in sourcing and analysing local data and identifying gaps to assess public health concerns. You’ll also learn key data concepts and how to use both qualitative and quantitative data for effective planning. The workshop will also cover community engagement and internal and external stakeholder engagement.
Relevant localised data will be provided to ensure the workshop provides practical information and the event will
- Increase skills in collecting, analysing, and identifying gaps in local health data.
- Increase skills in prioritising public health issues using data and case studies.
- Increase knowledge of engaging internal and external stakeholders effectively in the public health planning process.
The workshop will be followed by a second session in early 2025, where we will continue the process, including setting objectives and priorities for your Public Health Plan.
This event is supported by WA Country Health Service and City of Bunbury.
