Southern Growers' Weekend Wānanga
Event description
This Event has been cancelled due to low booking numbers.
Thanks for your interest, and please get in touch if you are interested in seeing other events like this in the future.
Join us for a weekend of knowledge sharing, community-building, and good food. We will tour some Dunedin market gardens, have workshops centred on building networks and collaborations, and share meals featuring delicious, locally-sourced kai.
We are holding a space to bring together existing, new, and aspiring market gardeners from Otago and Southland, as well as folks interested in becoming involved with their local food system. Council staff, chefs, produce managers, grocers: meet our local growers, see some of their operations and get involved!

About the venue
The wānanga will be held at the Long Beach Community Hall, just north of Ōtepoti Dunedin and minutes from stunning coastal landscapes and walking tracks.
Camping onsite is an option for an extra $20 for the weekend. You will be able to access the amenities in the hall and we will even have a movie night for those staying!
Kids are welcome (under 12 free)! The hall is across the street from a playground and the beach. If there's interest, we can coordinate someone to take kids out to enjoy the outdoors while workshops are underway.
