Southern Sky A Cappella Choir
The group formed in May 2022, when several residents of the Coal River Valley started meeting in each other’s homes to sing. The ensemble comprises choristers who have sung in a number of other choirs around Hobart, including the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra Chorus. The choir likes to perform a variety of a cappella repertoire and often arranges music to feature soloists from within the group.
Southern Sky’s debut appearance was at the Richmond Hall in April of 2023, where the choir performed to a packed audience.
The Lyrebirds
The Lyrebirds are a group of mature-age singers who have enjoyed providing music and entertainment to aged folk and seniors in Southern Tasmania for almost twenty years. Their performances are relaxed and informal and their simple aim is that their audiences have as much fun as they do!
Clarence City Children's Choir
Clarence City Children’s Choir’s mission is to nurture the love of singing in school-aged children. No auditions are required, just a desire to sing and perform with others.
Clarence City Children’s Choir meets on Wednesdays during school terms at the Howrah Community Centre (in the Guide Hall), 11 Howrah Road, Howrah from 4:15 to 5:15 pm.
New singers are welcome to join us at any time. First session is free: come along and try us on for size!
