Join the Southside Resilience Collective for a free, practical Grant Writing Workshop designed to build confidence and skills to increase funding opportunities.
Whether you’re new or experienced, you’ll learn how to find grants, understand what funders seek, and craft clear, compelling applications.
Perfect for grassroots projects or emerging ideas, this session offers practical tools and support.
Bring your ideas and be part of a more resourced, resilient, and connected community.
We’ll cover:
Funding sources and searching for grants
How to write a compelling application aligned to funder objectives.
Providing evidence of the need.
Preparing an accurate, detailed budget.
Support materials to prove you are worthy
Date: Saturday 2nd May 10am (Doors open 9:45am)
Duration: 1.5 hours
Participants: No existing project needed. This workshop is ideal for beginners, community members, Not-for-Profit organisations, individuals and local Environmental Leaders.
Light refreshments, water, tea and coffee will be provided.
Accessibility: Please enter via the Herbert Street EcoCentre main entrance. The venue is easily accessible by public transport. The workshop will be held indoors on the ground floor in an air-conditioned room with tables and chairs. Accessible parking is available on Blessington Street and an accessible toilet is on site.
Workshop Facilitator: Sarah Howell; our presenter is an artist and festival director who has been grant writing since 2000, regularly securing funding from all levels of government, as well as philanthropic sources. She has been a grant accessor for Creative Victoria (the Victorian State Government's Creative Industries funding body)
