elias wolf: Sovereign Soul EP Release Show

Join singer-songwriter and musical spellcaster elias wolf for an evening of live looping vocal magic as they share songs from their new record, sovereign soul. Born during a year of profound unraveling and becoming, these songs started as simple song-affirmations, repeated quietly to themself in moments of grief, fear and uncertainty. Now fleshed out into layers of lush, dissonant harmonies, elias brings these songs to the community, with invitations to join in singing or simply sit back and allow oneself to be held in sonic sanctuary. As a dynamic performer and tender of collective energy, elias is most alive when the line between artist and audience dissolves into something shared, intimate, and electric, and they are known for putting on shows that feel connective and re-humanizing.

ABOUT

elias wolf (formerly Lisa Forkish - they/them) is a heart-forward singer, composer, teacher, vocal director/arranger, community-weaver and change-maker creating music and collective singing experiences. elias is devoting this era of their life to stewarding what they call “re-humanizing queer song magic for the revolution.”

elias has been at the helm of over 15 choirs and vocal groups over the past 23 years, including 5-time national champion high school a cappella group Vocal Rush and powerhouse vocal quintet, HIVE. elias is also an award-winning vocal arranger, and their work has been showcased alongside Kehlani, Ben Harper, Pentatonix and the Oakland Symphony Chorus. Their love of organizing singing humans and producing events also led them to found an arts advocacy nonprofit devoted to uplifting marginalized voices in vocal music. elias was on vocal music faculty at Oakland School for the Arts and their stint as director of University of Oregon’s a cappella group Divisi was the inspiration for the film “Pitch Perfect,” A graduate of Berklee College of Music, elias has six albums to their name including their most recent EP sovereign soul; a sonic sanctuary born during a year of profound unraveling and becoming. A performer of 25+ years, elias has appeared at SFJAZZ Center, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Yoshi’s, and is currently recording their next release, to the water, arriving in 2027. elias is also the founder and Artistic Director of two intergenerational Eugene-based queer vocal groups: HomoPhonic and Queer Choir. 

elias identifies as a genderqueer, white-bodied witch of English, Welsh, German and Ashkenazi Jewish descent. They hold the superpowers of ADHD and high sensitivity, as well of the gifts of being a Cancerian water creature. elias is currently a settler on unceded Kalapuya land where they live with their three fur babies (Wally, Venus and Willow) and their Yamaha upright piano. 

B. DeVeaux is a 26 year old Neo-Soul vocalist and songwriter who has performed all over the Bay Area and beyond — including most recently, America’s Got Talent, as well as, SF Jazz, Yerba Buena Gardens, The Breakroom at San Jose Jazz, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, the Mountain Winery, and the Kennedy Center.
