I'm a proud old boy of St Pat’s (1992 to 1996), and now the father of two sons currently attending the College, with a third starting next year. It’s a privilege to watch them embrace the values and special character that define the school, and to see them grow into confident, grounded young men.

As a family, we place a strong emphasis on education. My wife, Faencha, is a dedicated primary school teacher, and together we’ve always prioritised academic excellence and a well-rounded upbringing. We value that St Pat’s not only enables our sons’ academic success but also nurtures their growth into young men of integrity, compassion and resilience.

After graduating from St Pat’s, I completed a Bachelor of Commerce at Victoria University of Wellington. I now hold a senior leadership role at Te Puni Kōkiri — the Ministry of Māori Development — where I lead the delivery of strategic and policy advice directly to Ministers on issues critical to Māori wellbeing and development. My role involves contributing to national policy direction, aligning cross-government efforts, and helping shape decisions that support stronger outcomes for whānau and communities across Aotearoa. It is both a privilege and a responsibility I take seriously, grounded in a deep commitment to public service and to ensuring every individual, regardless of background, has the opportunity to thrive.

That sense of purpose was fostered during my years at St Pat’s. The College brought together young men from all walks of life and gave us the chance to learn from one another, to form lasting friendships, and to grow through shared experience. Those connections shaped who I am today and continue to reinforce the values of unity, respect and service that guide me in my professional and personal life.

I joined the Board of Trustees two years ago with a strong desire to give back to the College that helped shape my journey. This year, I was honoured to be appointed presiding member. I’m excited to work alongside my fellow trustees and our Rector, Mike, to help set the strategic direction of the College and support its ongoing growth and development.

Together, we are committed to ensuring that St Pat’s continues its proud tradition of academic excellence and character formation, grounded in Christian values, for current students and generations of future St Pat’s sons.
